For the 2021 pro season, James Conrad had switched from his long-time sponsor, Innova Champion discs to MVP.
Conrad played a good season, placing in the top ten of 9 events through June, second place at two of them.
Then, at the 2021 PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships, on the fifth and final round he was on the lead card with Paul McBeth, Calvin Heimburg, and Kevin Jones. After 9 holes he was tied with Jones and Nate Sexton for second place, all only one stroke behind McBeth and Chris Dickerson.
But going in to the final hole, others had fallen off and Conrad was only one throw behind McBeth.

Or skip to Conrad's 3rd shot on par 4 hole 18. The basket was surrounded by out of bounds. McBeth has laid up to play for a safe par and win the tournament. Conrad put an Axiom Envy (made by MVP) up into the air.
The tournament went into a sudden-death playoff.
